Maria Chau, Sharon Yeo and Roxanne Yip, all second generation Chinese Canadians, grew up experiencing a vibrant Edmonton Chinatown, an area that served as a hub for friends and families to gather, shop and eat. With the many changes currently taking place in the core of the city, they see this as the perfect opportunity to inject some new life and interest into an aging neighbourhood that has long been a part of the city’s history, as well as their childhood.

Through various events that are currently being planned to take place throughout the year, they aim to attract younger generations, who may not be familiar with the history or the richness of the community, while also respectfully paying tribute to generations past. Their goal is to contribute to the revitalization of the area, as well as to invite Edmontonians to join them in (re)discovering Edmonton’s Chinatown.
